Blue Ridge Parkway

The Blue Ridge Parkway is my most favorite place in the world to be on a regular basis. I have gathered a wealth of images while driving, hiking, or biking America's Most Favorite Drive. While it's difficult to capture the true essence of the Blue Ridge Mountains, I continue to try to take that one good shot that will amaze even myself.
Nothing takes away the stress of the day more than cheese, crackers, wine, and a fantastic sunset.
Last year The Blue Ridge Parkway celebrated its 75th Anniversary, so I volunteered to help clean a couple overlooks nearby. Not only is this monthly volunteer work rewarding, but I've also discovered new trails in the process; namely Skinny Dip Falls Trail. Pack a lunch or snack to take with you, because once you get to the Falls you'll want to hang out for a while.
Mabry Mill, seen at right, is one of the most photographed places on the Parkway. No matter how many times I visit this old grist mill, I have to take more pictures.
