Zippity Doo Dah!
If you've never tried ziplining I highly recommend Navitat, located a mere hour north (or less) from Asheville, North Carolina. We went there recently to see what all the fuss was about, and had a magnicent time. We met lots of new people, discovered our boundaries on fear, had several big ole belly laughs, and flew through the multi-colored trees that surrounded us. From one platform, we could see Craggy Dome and Craggy Pinnacle, both located on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Having to wear all that gear makes it difficult to take pictures, but that is your lifeline to safety. But try hanging a camera around your neck with all that other gear. It's not easy - as my pictures will attest. But I do love a good challenge every now and again. Photography wouldn't be as fun if it were easy to do. Our guides, Patrick and Megan, were excellent - even when our dear friend Lisa found herself "caught" on one of the zip lines. Technically speaking her glove got caught in the thingamajig and kept her from completing her zip. Patrick had to climb out and rescue her. Secretly we think she just wanted some quality alone time with Patrick, but we can't be certain. Gee, ain't it nifty - Lisa R turned 50!!
We met Sally and Janice who are wonderful people and shared even more laughs (and drinks) with them afterwards. I highly recommend visiting Navitat or at the very least, putting them on your bucket list.
If you've never rappelled or hiked across a rickety bridge, then Navitat is the place for you!
